and this is why minnesota sucks. (but I still heart it)
So remember me saying Stella's was about to take off? I take it back. Holy effing snowstorm! And I was really put out by it until I saw that snowman on my way home from work today :)
In other notes, do you ever notice how your bed seems the most comfortable it's ever been when you have to get out of it and you've already hit the snooze button three times so you actually *do* have to get up? This morning my alarm went off yet again... I turned it off fully intending to jump up for fear of being late, when Sia, my precious darling little kitten suddenly stretched out all along the length of my arm (which was freezing) and curled her little head under my chin. Damn...

march update! (faretheewell sweet turtles)
It's time for your March update kids! What have I been doing that I've been too busy to blog? Well, let me tell you!!
First of all, my turtles Coco & Killer have gone byebye. As cute as they are and as much as my kittens love to play in the turtle tank (it's true, they would walk around in it, sit on the filter, and chill out with the turtles) it was just too much work on top of everything else I have to do. I was completely distressed about it, but then good ole mom and pop said they would take the little darlings! So now I have visiting rights and their tank will no longer have unattractive water marks on it from playing kittens, ha.
With the 55 gallon tank gone, I got a new bookshelf and organized my apartment! At long last all of my books fit on the shelf instead of having a bunch of them stuffed in my closet or sitting in bags on the floor. Woot woot!
Also, I put in my two week notice at Red Lobster last Friday. And Jesus H. have I gotten a lot of grief about it! I know it's with the best intentions, because people will miss me, but a simple "Oh no! I'm going to miss you!!" will suffice, I don't need convincing to stay, because it's not going to happen. I have way too much going on in my life without holding on to Red Lobster too, when I am S-I-C-K of it. The lob gave me some of my very best friends, but I still have them even if I don't have the Lob, and so ends the Lobster dynasty ;) On the plus side, training is officially over!! I had food class on Mon. and liquor class on Tues. so now all I need is for the weather to change and the patio to open!! I am continually scheduled oncall shifts, but for this week, I hope I don't get called in so I can play catchup with my other jobs and my life!
On the kitten front, both Sia and Yumi are well, though I think they definitely miss the turtles. Less entertainment for them while I'm gone now... for shame. But really... I can give them a box and they are entertained for a week.
So basically I'm really happy right now. Apartment is clean, kittens are healthy, turtles have a new home, and both of my jobs (Stella's and A Mood for You) are about to take off. So yay for March, you've been good to me :)

books and stuff
I need a good new book series to read. It doesn't even need to be a true series, it could be a good author with a common theme... ok fine or it could just be good books in general, I just enjoy series a lot. But if you are going to name single books name several!! I devour books and will finish faster than you think!! Heeeellllp me! Ooh and notice how cute Sia looks in the above picture-- she loves Harry Potter too!! ha.

the fountain of life
Yumi and Sia have an intense fascination with my turtles and are constantly hanging out on the filter or walking along the edges of the turtle tank. Yumi has recently taken to actually wading around in the tank and I catch BOTH of them drinking from the tank as well. That's actually pretty sick, because the tank is gross. I mean it's clean, and the water is filtered and everything, but still it has 2 turtles living in it and turtles poop and stuff so gross.
I thought maybe they liked to drink from the tank because they like running water so I bought them their very own kitty water fountain!! The water flows down that little bubble and into the dish so there is constant motion. They were totally into it the night I brought it home, but I haven't caught them drinking from it since then... at the same time I haven't caught them drinking from the turtle tank either.
Silly spoiled kittens... I think they might like the packaging the fountain came in better than the fountain itself. That's how it usually is though, ha.

mmmm... greasy......
Tonight (this morning?!!) I discovered Dulono's. Apparently, this pizza place has been in uptown all along and delivers late-night; the pizza tastes like Beek's, the chicken wings are crispy and delicious, and the cheesy bread is effin' awesome!! AND, they deliver within the hour. This order only took aprox. 20 minutes. Everybody likes some greasy tasty food after-bar and this place takes the cake. I programmed their number into my phone and I'm glad I decided to go out after work tonight if only to discover the joys of Dulono's late-night eats. If you live in the uptown area, you too should discover the joys of Dulono's. Or, if you go to the bar in my neighborhood, we can eats Dulono's together :D Cheers kiddos!!
